ISAIC’s First Ever Job Readiness Workshop

In a transformative move towards fostering career success, the Industrial Sewing, and Innovation Center (ISAIC) recently held its first-ever Job Readiness Workshop. Spearheaded by the newly appointed Associate Director of Programming, Gary Shelton, this event marked a significant stride in preparing ISAIC students and graduates for the competitive landscape of the industrial sewing and production industry.

The workshop, attended by approximately 10 alumni and graduates of the Fundamentals of Industrial Sewing and Production program, delved into various facets of job readiness. From refining resumes to crafting compelling cover letters, practicing interview techniques, to mastering the art of professional presentation, the participants received personalized guidance to enhance their employability.

For many students, the workshop served as valuable support in preparing them for success. The guidance received went beyond the conventional, offering practical tips on what to wear, how to articulate their achievements, and how to make an impression on potential employers.

What sets ISAIC's Job Readiness Workshop apart is its commitment to ongoing support for alumni. Recognizing the challenges graduates may face in securing employment, the workshop will continue to be offered, acting as a resource hub for alumni seeking new career opportunities. This commitment reflects ISAIC's dedication to the success of its graduates beyond the classroom, fostering a community that transcends the educational experience.

The impact of this initiative extends beyond mere career preparation; it nurtures lasting relationships among ISAIC graduates. By facilitating continued engagement through workshops and support services, ISAIC aims to build a network that not only connects alumni professionally but also fosters a sense of community and mutual success.

In the 2024 fiscal year, ISAIC T&D department will provide a job fair and resource fair for all ISAIC students and graduates. This will allow ISAIC to impact each participant who has attended ISAIC training.
