Support Black Businesses: Happy Black History Month! 

As a startup, we deeply understand the significance of community and resource sharing. We recognize the systemic challenges that black-owned businesses disproportionately face, which can hinder their growth and sustainability. From limited access to capital to systemic discrimination and bias, black entrepreneurs encounter numerous hurdles on their journey to success. 

In Honor of Black History Month, but also beyond February, we encourage everyone to actively support black-owned businesses and learn about the vibrant entrepreneurial landscape in the Detroit metro area. By intentionally buying black and patronizing Black-owned businesses, we can contribute to fostering economic equity and empowerment within our community. 

To facilitate this, here are a few upcoming events where you can explore and celebrate the resilience and creativity of black-owned businesses: 

1. Black Business Reunion: Uniting the Community for Prosperity 

Black Business Reunion Happy Hour (techtowndetroit.org)

   - Location: Wayne State Industry Innovation Center, 461 Burroughs, Detroit, MI 

   - This event celebrates the legacy and emerging Black-owned businesses that have played a vital role in Detroit's growth and community fabric. 

 

2. Black-Owned Businesses Pop-Up Market
