Breaking Barriers, One Stitch at a Time: Olivia Marshall's Trailblazing Promotion

This Women's History Month, we are shining a spotlight on Olivia Marshall, who has recently been promoted to Training and Development Coordinator at the Industrial Sewing and Innovation Center (ISAIC). Her journey is a testament to the power of passion, hard work, and unwavering dedication.

Olivia's love affair with sewing began long before she joined ISAIC. An avid sewist, she spent her free time creating beautiful garments like dresses and sweaters for herself. Little did she know that this hobby would pave the way for her remarkable career.

Olivia's sewing prowess caught the eye of ISAIC, and she was brought on board as a trainer in the Training and Development department. Here, she taught the fundamentals of industrial sewing and production, sharing her knowledge and igniting the same passion in others.

But Olivia's talents extended far beyond training. With a keen eye for data management and processing, she quickly became a linchpin for the department as it transitioned into a new era. She wore numerous hats, serving as a survey developer, data analyst, and report maker, ensuring that ISAIC could communicate its impact effectively.

Olivia's dedication did not stop there. She took on the role of training instructors from manufacturing and nonprofit organizations across the country, teaching them how to use ISAIC's curriculum and operate new machines. Her expertise even led her to train a teacher from Hope for Flowers on using a single needle lock stitch to teach their apprentices.

As if that was not enough, Olivia also lent her talents to event planning, ensuring that the Training and Development department ran smoothly and efficiently.

“I feel very positive about it. My role is heavily focused on collecting and managing data. Delivering accurate metrices to our students and alumni helps our organization secure funding from various sources. These funds are then used to allow for the less fortunate to participate in the course with no out of pocket cost to them and help them jumpstart their career in the sewn goods industry.”As the first woman in this position, her trailblazing spirit and unwavering commitment to excellence are sure to inspire others to follow her.

“I hope that the work I do here inspires women how to pursue their passions and feel the confidence they need to go after their goals.”

At ISAIC, we champion promoting from within and creating a culture of employee empowerment and investing in our talent. Upward mobility is not limited to the production floor; it seeps into every division of our business. Olivia's promotion is a testament to this philosophy, and we could not be prouder to have her leading the way.
