Career Catalyst: Empowering FISP Alumni in the Automotive Industry

In March 2024, the ISAIC Training and Development team introduced a new initiative: an alumni skill refresher aimed at unemployed graduates from the past cohorts. This initiative aligns with our ongoing efforts to enhance job placement rates and guide our graduates towards prosperous career paths across various industries.

An invitation was extended to former students, resulting in approximately 10 participants returning to benefit from the program. The curriculum covered essential topics such as sewing skills, manufacturing techniques, sewing test practice, interpreting tech packs, and the fundamentals of industrial sewing and production.

Recognizing the abundance of job opportunities available through our employer partner, Recaro Automotive, the curriculum was tailored to meet the specific needs of the automotive industry. To facilitate direct employment opportunities, we invited a hiring representative from Recaro to conduct interviews on-site for both current and past alumni.

The Training and Development team envisions this initiative as an ongoing benefit for our alumni network, fostering confidence in their ability to secure employment within the industry. Katie O'Connor, our Training Developer, emphasizes the significance of this program, stating, "This initiative provides our alumni with invaluable opportunities to enhance their skills and secure meaningful employment in the industry."

As we eagerly anticipate the successes of our alumni in their new endeavors, we invite you to stay tuned for updates on their placements. To our training partners nationwide who license our curriculum and share our commitment to improving placement outcomes, we encourage you to explore innovative strategies for engaging students still seeking sustainable and rewarding careers in the industry. Together, we can empower individuals to achieve their career aspirations and contribute to the growth of the industry!
